About the wine
Sunny landscapes in Carnuntum give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Austrian winery Gerhard Markowitsch conjures up this white wine with refinement and sensitivity. This dominant Grüner Veltliner 2014 — Gruner Veltliner alte Reben is, in the truest sense of the word, a hit right down to the last drop! The Flaschenpöstler guarantee a culinary experience when you serve this Grüner Veltliner with an aperitif or freshwater fish.
Tasting note
The nose presents fresh meadow, a hint of peach, but there are also exotic fruits such as green banana and grapefruit. Partial ageing in barrique reveals slight nuances of brioche, a harmonious interplay between acidity, minerals and alcohol content. On the finish, medium to long presence with a aftertaste of Golden Delicious apples paired with a slight peppery spice.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with aperitifs and starters, including asparagus and artichoke dishes.
Vinification
12 months in 500 liter barrels on fine yeast.
