About the wine
The extensive estate is located between the two cities of Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero, in a region that is renowned for its quality wines. Since 1990, chief oenologist Peter Sisseck has defined the style of Monasterio wines with his right hand, winemaker Carlos de la Fuente. Together, they have created cuvées with a full-fruity and remarkably mineral character, which stand out clearly from the other Ribera wines with their elegant yet intense bouquet.

Tasting note
Dark ruby red On the nose, fine black berries and exotic spices, floral notes and beautifully integrated wood notes. Fresh and juicy on the palate. Crisp acidity and perfectly integrated tannins are balanced with the ripe fruit.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled meats, roasts, game, spicy cheeses.
Vinification
The grapes are strictly selected and completely destemmed. This is followed by a week of cold maceration and then fermentation with natural yeasts in steel tanks. The wine is aged for 17 months in French oak barrels (15% new wood and 85% used)
