About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from Austrian Weingut Familie Umathum masters this red wine in the picturesque landscape of Burgenland. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Cabernet Sauvignon with pizza with mushrooms or Gruyère burgers.

Tasting note
A Burgenland man from a good family. Haideboden is the old name for the area around the pilgrimage site of Frauenkirchen on Lake Neusiedl, between Seewinkel in the west, the Parndorfer Platte in the north and Hansag in the south. Josef Umathum's storage wine shows a dark red in the glass and a pleasantly fruity note in the bouquet, which is reminiscent of ripe wild berries. The smoky, delicately spicy aromas go well with venison and lamb. A typical Austrian cuvée, characterized by local grape varieties with subtle nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, stews, venison and lamb.
Vinification
Contact time with the peels up to three weeks, followed by biodegradation in barrels, aged in small barriques (2/3 used, 1/3 new) for over 20 months.
