The outstanding elite winery Schloss Lieser has been run since 1992 by Thomas Haag, the son of the legendary Wilhelm Haag (Fritz Haag winery), who left his mark on the region at the time. Typically for the Moselle, the vineyards here have a slope of up to a breakneck steep 70%! The fine, loose slate weathered soils give the Riesling wines their distinct mineral expression. The classically dry VDP.Ortswein Heldenstück comes from the top location Niederberg Helden. With 100% blue slate and 120-year-old vines, some of which are true to roots, and gradients of up to 80%, the Niederberg Helden site is one of the most exciting and multi-faceted sites in the Moselle. The hero's piece presents itself with distinct layering, high density and impressive length.
