About the wine
The winemaker from the Austrian Esterhazy winery masteres this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the picturesque landscape of Burgenland. With the provocative red wine 2015 — Hommage à Joseph Haydn Merlot Burgenland, you can offer your guests something very special. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you offer this Merlot with duck or slightly spicy red meat.
Tasting note
Medium ruby red with garnet reflections. Intense scent of juicy, ripe, dark cherries, floral notes, underlined with delicate roasted and coffee aromas, fine, typical vegetable notes. Substance, soft, velvety with beautifully integrated tannins, peppery spiciness on the palate, a long finish with seductive fruit in the finale. An all-round harmonious homage to J. Haydn.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with venison, fried venison, wild boar stews, steak, dark beef and hearty pies and terrines.
