About the wine
The Brancaia winery includes vineyards in Castellina and Radda in Chianti as well as in coastal Maremma. The focus is always on the highest quality, sustainability and local typicity.
Tasting note
A blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Pleasantly aromatic start. Aromas of red currants, sour cherries, plums, blackberries, violets, slightly spicy and slightly dried tomatoes. Fruity on the palate, with harmoniously integrated acidity and fine tannins and aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, cassis, mocha and dried herbs. An elegant Chianti with a nice drinking flow that goes wonderfully with Italian dishes or barbecues. Organic since this year.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with veal, beef, steak and pork.
Vinification
Each individual vineyard and each variety is aged separately in barriques (two thirds new) for 18 months. The barrels are then cuvéetated, the wine is placed in uncoated concrete tanks for 3 months and finally the Il Blu is stored in bottles for one year.
