Tasting note
Dark purple with violet reflections. Very open, profound and complex bouquet. Opposing, powerful, energetic primary fruit. Plus coffee and roasted wood aromas, and some tobacco. Dense, rich and round on the palate. Lots of meaty tannin of perfect quality. The aromas of the nose are repetitive. A masterpiece of complexity and balance. It is already very promising, but it will certainly increase significantly over the next few years. Great
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with beef, lamb and game as well as with aged cheese.
Vinification
The vines for this wine grow in a side valley southwest of Greve in Chianti. They are over 80 years old and therefore yield a very low yield. A further selection of grapes guarantees the top quality of this wine. After fermentation, the young wine is aged for twelve months in new 350-liter French oak barrels and refined in the bottle for a further six months. Around 25,000 bottles are produced every year!
