About the wine
Paolo Basso is “Best Sommelier in the World.” The man from Ticino won the World Winery Championships in Tokyo in 2013. A few years ago, he fulfilled a dream and makes his own wine in Mendrisiotto. Paolo Basso believes that a good “Bordeaux blend” from Tessin can compete in the league of the world's best wines: “In a unique way, it manages to combine both a sunny spirit and profundity.” “Il Rosso di Chiara” is a complex, full-bodied wine with character. The sommelier dedicated it to his daughter.
Tasting note
Very nice, brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, intense aromas of amarena cherries and vanilla. The palate is rich, smooth and long; again, notes of cherries, cocoa, tobacco and fine roasted aromas. Extremely elegant wine with lots of character!
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, game, risottos and cheese.
