About the wine
After brothers Piero and Lodovico Antinori had gone their separate ways for years, a fertile piece of land in the Alta Maremma managed to reunite them: the Tenuta di Biserno.
Tenuta di BisernoRed wine | 150cl1416°-18°CSyrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
Tasting note
Intense ruby with purple reflections. Intense and fruity on the nose. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, plus warm spicy notes, dark chocolate, coffee and an elegant nose sweetness. A rich start on the palate with some fruit extract. With a juicy and precise structure. The tannins are present, but are well integrated and sanded. The aromas of the nose are also visible on the palate. Lots of black fruit paired with roasted aromas. The aftertaste is flattering, aromatic and persistent.
Culinary recommendation
Perfect with grilled meat, spicy pasta and pizza.
Vinification
The grapes for Insoglio del Cinghiale are harvested by hand. After gentle squeezing, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Some of the young wine is then transferred to barriques for malolactic fermentation. 30% of the young wine is then aged over four months in one-year French barriques. The remaining young wine is aged in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it ages in the bottle for a further three months.
