About the wine

Jean-Pierre Robinot - in France and in the Natural Wine scene a sounding name, a legendary figure, the old Zausel, what kind of fascinating person is that, the peace and maturity of a 70-year-old, the also chaotic passion of youth, from the wine bar and wine magazine founder, he transformed himself into a winegrower in the 2000s, in his childhood town of Chahaignes, he and his wife now cultivate approx. 10 ha biodynamically, here too, with the peace and passion that is needed for the extraordinary. Ancient barrels, moist tunnels, avoiding sulfur and other additions and patience when it takes so long to ferment the wines for more than a year and let them mature for more than 5 years! The result is simply terrific, wines of incomparable peace of mind and vitality!

Vinum: 16.5/20
Tasting note
The big ride. This is the scent of the wide world that draws you out, this tempting gold in the fruit, slightly oxidizing, wax, honey, this vegetal freshness, also green olive, the wonderfully interwoven chalky minerality, a cloud and dream at the same time, so rich and deep and wide. On the palate, this dream carries you again, everything fits into one another here, it merges so smoothly, from the supple golden to the light-tart fruit and back again, resin too, where you sail off and sink into thought. Once again a great Chenin Blanc from Robinot! unique
