About the wine
This provocative red wine 2017 — Lagrein is in the truest sense of the word a hit right down to the last drop! Picturesque and blooming landscapes in South Tyrol give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Cantina di Terlan o conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Flaschenpost team promises a dining experience when you serve this Lagrein with Riz Casimir or seafood.
Tasting note
Dark garnet red. The bouquet is dominated by an intense fruit aroma of dried cranberries and sour cherries enriched by a lilac scent and the smell of cooked laurel leaf. notes of chocolate. Juicy and harmonious in taste with a fine texture and filigree tannins, Lagrein unfolds with a great fullness and is very velvety and full-bodied on the palate.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef roulades with mashed potatoes or braised beef leg with building cabbage, as well as hard cheese such as aged Parmesan cheese.
Vinification
Harvest and grape selection by hand. Destemming of the grapes followed by slow mash fermentation at a controlled temperature and gentle mash movement in stainless steel tanks: biological acid degradation and maturation for approx. 9 months in large wooden barrels.
