About the wine
Fertile and picturesque landscapes in South Tyrol give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Kellerei Girlan conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Treat yourself to the senses with the first-class Laurin Lagrein Merlot Alto Adige DOC!
Tasting note
The grapes come partly from the Girlan growing region on the hills of Überetsch, at an altitude of 450 - 500 m above sea level and partly from the lowlands with their sandy, warm and deep soils. The combination of Lagrein and Merlot varieties creates a hearty, full and full-bodied wine with a modern character.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. After de-straining, the mash is filled with gravity into the steel barrels, where fermentation takes place (12-15 days). After biological acid degradation, it is aged for 15 months in small and large wooden barrels. Before bottling, the wine is cuvetted and sold after a further 6-month storage.
