This is the first vintage of this new single-layer champagne from Fabrice Pouillon. The hill, with the eponymous place of worship “Notre Dame du Gruguet”, not only offers a wonderful view of the Valée de la Marne, it is also something of a chalk island on the banks of the Marne and offers a special terroir. The grapes come from four plots: “Les Varilles”, “Les Marolles”, “Les Croix Blanches” and “Sente de Demoiselles”. The base wine is aged completely in used oak barrels. The nose features aromas of fresh raspberries, sour cherries and juicy red apples, plus some licorice, with notes of toasted brioche and roasted nuts. Fine and elegant on the palate, yet complex, with good pressure and nice, crisp freshness. ONLY 2078 BOTTLES PRODUCED!
