About the wine
Umberto Cesari founded his company in 1965 together with his wife Giuliana. Over the years, more vineyards have been purchased. All winemaking techniques focus on protecting the environment. Grass protects vineyards from erosion, pest control and fertilization are handled strictly according to integrated production. Traditionally conscious yet innovative, Cesari today stands for first-class quality from Romagna.
Tasting note
The Liano is a clear ruby red with garnet red reflections; an impressive bouquet, very intense and persistent with notes of vanilla, ripe fruit, spices and roasted aromas. A full-bodied, smooth and harmonious wine.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, lamb, game and grilled meats.
Vinification
After de-stemming and pressing, the grapes are stored for fermentation in special fermenters, in which the pomace is constantly flooded. After the must has been tapped, the wine is stored in 50/60 hl barrels for 6 months. It is then moved into 5 hl Allier oak barrels, in which it matures for a further 12 months. It is now bottled for refinement and stored there for another year.
