About the wine
You can describe the Ticino landscape with words such as mountainous or hilly. However, the Swiss winery Luigi Zanini - Vinattieri is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Merlot is very good to serve with poultry or duck.
Tasting note
The wine has an intense red color with bright reflections in the glass. The bouquet is characterized by notes of plum, dark and red berries, with fine aromas of vanilla, leather and spices. On the palate, it shows all the typical characteristics of Merlot: full-bodied, soft, juicy, with distinctive but very elegant tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with stews, game, mushrooms, risotto
Vinification
Careful sorting of grapes. The must is fermented in 50-hectoliter wooden barrels. The wine is then aged in new barriques for around 18 months.
