About the wine
Colomé is not only the oldest, but also the highest winery in Argentina. Some vines grow here at over 3000 meters above sea level. The proud owner of this wine oasis in the middle of the mountains is the Swiss Donald Hess.
Tasting note
Deep dark red color with purple reflections. On the nose, lots of blackberry aromas with lots of cassis and some licorice. Tannins present on the palate and at the same time tender, carried by the taste of black pepper, blueberries and ripe plums.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with venison, grill, lamb.
Vinification
Some of the vines for Colomé are over 80 years old. The average age of the vines is around 30 years. The grapes are fermented exclusively in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 12 months in French barriques (half new and one-year).
