Malbec WOW Vin de Pays Suisse 2020 - Charles Rolaz / Hammel SA

About the wine

Sunny and fertile landscapes of Vaud give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Swiss winery Charles Rolaz / Hammel SA conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. With this distinctive red wine 2019 — Malbec WOW Vin de Pays Suisse, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Malbec is excellent to serve with barbecue or stuffed peppers.

Tasting note
The Malbec WOW Vin de Pays Suisse bouquet of coffee, chocolate and leather shows a complex aroma character and a lot of finesse. The distinctive notes of black cherry, plum and raspberry create its individual texture. Powerful body and distinctive acidity result in the red wine, which shows a lot of character and class harmoniously with fine tannins in the mouth.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with foie gras, kidneys, braised meat, prime rib, roast lamb, duck with honey, pigeon, black truffle, porcini mushrooms, venison medallions, mushroom risotto, not too strong cheeses. Good pairings with desserts such as chocolate cake, mocha, hazelnut coffee macaroon are also absolutely possible.
Vinification
For many years, the entire winery has been managed according to environmentally friendly principles. Ripeness monitoring to determine harvest time, yield limit, harvest and hand-pick to keep berries intact. Extra. Sorting out the best berries upon arrival in the cellar. Gentle pressing. Fermentation for approx. 3 weeks before the wine is aged on the fine yeast in French oak barrels for approx. 15 months.
