About the wine
Founded in 2001 by Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, both winemakers and couple, invested in old vineyards and acquired land in the Pinhão Valley. “Our goal is to create wines that reflect the character of traditional vineyards and grape varieties from the Douro Valley. Wines balanced between concentration, complexity and elegance.”

Tasting note
The floral aromas of Manoella Douro DOC of mint, boiled fruit and marmalade express a lot of finesse with a very special structure. Subsequently, the subtle nuances of violets, blueberries and plums reveal their own character. A red wine with a powerful body and dominant acidity, which unfolds its complex structure distinctively with rich tannins on the tongue and palate. This top wine received the award: Robert Parker: 92.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Manoella Douro DOC goes well with tapas, pasta and barbecue.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: Vinified in stone containers. Mashed by foot during the eight-day fermentation, then pressed and aged for 16 months in 1- and 2-year-old French barriques.
