About the wine
Poggio Argentiera is a relatively young winery in the heart of Maremma, near the coastal town of Albarese. Here, between a beautiful nature reserve and the Mediterranean Sea, is the Morellino di Scansano designation of origin and the climate is extremely healthy for the vines due to the sea breeze. Giovanni Frascolla grew up on the family winery as the grandson of Virgilio and Rita Tua. After working with his father in recent years, Giovanni is now responsible for Poggio Argentiera. Of course, he is supported by a team of winemakers, the same team as Tua Rita.
Tasting note
Delicate aromas of strawberry, elderberry and acacia blossoms, plus a hint of dried fruit, characterize this light garnet red wine. The palate is fruity, harmonious and aromatic, beautifully fresh, with lively tannins and a slender, supple body.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled or fried fish.
