About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Cusumano has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing landscape of Sicily. If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it will be this distinctive red wine 2018 Marena Merlot Terre Siciliane IGT. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Merlot can be served very well with poultry or slightly spicy, red meat.
Tasting note
The glass shows a medium-density cherry red. The scent is intense and with inviting aromas of dark berries and cherries. Elegant and soft on the palate, with lots of juiciness, a subtle acidity and pleasant tannins.

Vinification
The Merlot grapes grow at 350 m above sea level in the San Giacomo vineyard. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks followed by a 5-month expansion phase on the fine yeast.
