It is a difficult task to maintain tradition while introducing improvements. The long-standing oenologist from Nino Negri, Danilo Drocco, coped with this with flying colors. His wine from the Inferno appellation has a typical Nebbiolo structure; it gains even more complexity when aged in small oak barrels. The nose reveals complex, fine aromas that are reminiscent of berries, floral, spicy notes and a subtle roasted aroma. By restricting yields and targeted expansion, it also gives the Mazér a rich robe and lots of enamel. The result: a dense, concentrated wine without weak points.
