About the wine
Do you already know the provocative red wine Merlot Due Amici with the 2013 vintage? If not, it's time! To get a feel for the mountainous and hilly landscape aesthetics of Ticino, there is no way around this red wine, which the Swiss winery Guido Brivio masters with a fine sense of texture. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or duck.

Tasting note
The Merlot Due Amici is dedicated to the successful partnership between two friends — Guido Brivio and Baur au Lac Vins — for over 20 years. It is a wine that unites: its floweriness and spiciness are reminiscent of rose petals, magnolias, roasted coffee, pepper and allspice. It is intensely fruity, not only on the scent but also on the palate with aromas of blackcurrant, amarena cherry, plum, white pepper and mocha.
Culinary recommendation
Unsere Empfehlung: Die ideale Trinktemperatur für den Rotwein liegt bei leicht gekühlten 16°-18°C. Im folgenden Zeitraum liegt die empfohlene Genussphase dieses Weins: 2-6 Jahre nach der Ernte. Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Merlot Due Amici harmoniert ausgezeichnet mit leicht scharfem, rotem Fleisch, Geflügel und Ente.
Vinification
Die Vinifikation fand wie folgt statt: Der Most vergärt temperaturkontrolliert bei 28 bis 30 °C im Edelstahltank. Die Mazeration dauert rund 10 bis 14 Tage und die malolaktische Gärung findet ebenfalls im Edelstahltank statt. Zum Ausbau wird der Jungwein in ein- und zweijährige Barriques gefüllt. Er verbleibt darin während 12 Monaten. Der Wein wird weder geschönt noch kaltstabilisiert.
