About the wine
With the distinctive red wine 2016 — Merlot Reserva DOC Montes, nuances and accents are redefined. The winemaker from the Chilean winery Bodegas Montes has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and refinement are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the enchanting and sunny landscape of Valle Central. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Merlot with duck or poultry.
Tasting note
Ruby red, aromatic, complex and intense in the bouquet, with fresh red fruits and light notes of dried fruit and vanilla. On the palate, balanced taste, rounded tannins and a good soft, harmonious and full-bodied structure. Can be enjoyed immediately, but can also be stored for up to six years.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Goes well with slightly spicy red meats, poultry and duck. Our recommendation: The ideal drinking temperature for the red wine is slightly chilled 15°-17°C.
Vinification
Information on vinification: Alcoholic fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks, then brief ageing in used barriques for 8 months.
