About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Tenimenti Ruffino masters this red wine in the blooming and fertile landscape of Tuscany. With the powerful Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 — Modus primo IGT, nuances and accents are redefined. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Cabernet Sauvignon is ideal to serve with red meat or pizza with mushrooms.
Tasting note
Intense ruby red, bouquet of ripe cherries and cassis, followed by balsamic touches and spicy notes of sweet tobacco and vanilla. Full, soft and harmonious on the palate with blackberry and chocolate notes. The tannins are velvety, the finish is persistent with a touch of spice. Next step from Modus, which was first launched by Ruffino in 1997.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Modus primo IGT goes well with ribeye steak, pizza with mushrooms and Gruyère burgers.
Vinification
Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon are harvested separately at their best time to mature. Temperature-controlled alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in steel tanks. Then aged for 18 months in French oak barriques (first occupancy).
