About the wine

In addition to a small village in the Piedmont region, the name Barolo also stands for a fascinating wine history, with which Cantina Marchesi die Barolo is strongly linked. It was the Margraves Falletti and former owners of the winery who created the wine of kings — Barolo — at the beginning of the 19th century. Among the personalities associated with the name Barolo, there are a few who can be described as historic, indeed true pioneers. This pioneering role also belongs to commendatore Pietro Emilio Abbona — an ancestor of the current owner family — who, as an undisputed pioneer, made the wine of his region and with it the Cantina Marchesi di Barolo known all over the world.
