About the wine
Blooming and picturesque landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Bruno Giacosa conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. With the biting red wine 2015 — Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC Valmaggiore, nuances and accents are redefined. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Nebbiolo can be served very well with prosciutto or burrata.
Tasting note
Bright ruby red. An extremely delicate, elegant nose, scents of raspberries, almonds and rose hips. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate, with elegant seasoning and fine roasted aromas. The tannins are present but fine-grained. The finale is very long and harmonious.
Culinary recommendation
Popular in Piedmont with roast pork but also agnolotti filled with meat.
Vinification
The Nebbiolo grapes come from the Valmaggiore di Vezza vineyard in the municipality of Alba. After harvesting and crushing the grapes, the mash is fermented in steel tanks. The young wine is aged for twelve months in medium-sized wooden barrels. A six-month bottle aging completes the vinification.
