Neyen means “ghost” in the local dialect. This special spirit still blows over the 120-year-old vines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère today and allows the two varieties to combine to create an expressive wine. The nose reveals intense notes of thyme, which are underlined with smoky aromas such as leather, cedarwood and tobacco. The fruit is also very present and comes to the fore with cassis and blackberries. The prelude is soft and merges into a dense and juicy body. Now the true power of the old vines is also evident: concentrated but velvety tannins combine elegantly with aromas of liquorice, vanilla, forest soil or blueberries. The complex aroma extends elegantly into the finish and thus allows this great wine to linger in a mystical way!
