Weingut Schloss Lieser, located on the Moselle, was bought in the 1990s by Thomas Haag together with his wife Ute in a state in need of renovation. After years of hard development work in cellars, vineyards and buildings, as well as the high demands placed on themselves to produce the highest possible Riesling quality, they were once again awarded the highest ratings in all renowned wine guides as one of the very few wineries in Germany. With their unique portfolio of 8 LARGE SITES, the elaboration of the respective terroir through natural gentle processing and spontaneous fermentation is particularly important. The fine, loose slate weathered soils give the Riesling wines their distinct mineral expression. The Niederberg Helden vineyard is directly adjacent to the village of Lieser. The hot microclimate guarantees high ripening of the grapes year after year, making them ideal for noble sweet wines. Very fine, with herbal spice, with excitement and freshness and precisely because this wine comes from a very warm location, it surprises with its delicacy and elegance.
