About the wine
Sunny and fertile landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Cascina Castlet conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Barbera can be served very well with pasta or stews.
Tasting note
This Barbera has an Amarone style. Garnet red in the glass with long-lasting aromas of plums and blackcurrant jam paired with nuances of dark chocolate. An extremely rich, full-bodied and velvety-elegant wine.

Vinification
After hand harvesting in October, the grapes are placed in boxes to dry. This creates a high sugar concentration in the shrinking grape berries, which are only pressed off in January. The wine then matures for 18 months in French oak barriques.
