About the wine

On the southern slopes of the Tschöggelberg in the Terlaner DOC area, there are very sun-drenched and steep wine farms, where a very exciting Pinot Blanc grows at an altitude of between 450 and 650 meters above sea level. This rich and extremely complex wine impresses in particular with its minerality and its remarkable ability to develop, thus underlining the full potential of this variety.

James Suckling: 95/100
Tasting note
The color is shiny straw yellow with green nuances. The smell is extremely multi-faceted, the complex bouquet can be described, which is characterized on the one hand by ripe fruit notes, such as honeydew melon, white peach, pears and golden delicious apples, as well as the aroma of quince jelly, chamomile and pineapple, but also by a delicate mineral note of flint on the other. The taste is the interplay of fruity-aromatic and salty flavor components that is also repeated on the palate. The compact structure with elegant enamel ensures a spicy, long-lasting, punchy mineral finish.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal in combination with spicy fish soup but also peppered mussels and spaghetti allo scoglio; at the same time also interesting with au gratin mussels, grilled squid or braised char; also goes well with artichokes alla romana, which are difficult to combine; with aged pecorino, stored parmesan with mostarda.
Vinification
Harvesting and grape selection by hand; gentle whole grape pressing and clarification of the must through natural sedimentation from the lees; slow fermentation at controlled temperature in large oak barrels (70 & 30 hl); partial biological acid degradation and maturation for 12 months on fine lees in traditional wooden barrels.
