Pinot Gris Beurot Sans Soufre Vully AOC 2022 - Cave de l'Hôpital

About the wine

Everything is so beautiful here! Everything! Located on Lake Murten, owned - both as nature and culture - by the civic community of Murten since the 15th century, 13 ha run since 2002 - and how! - by Christian Vassez, who is as talented as he is likeable. Biodynamic work in the vineyard - Demeter certified -, no poison and hardly any equipment, here people look at nature as well as people. Good vibes, life, energy, community spirit, trust, freedom. Spontaneous fermentation, the absence of sulfur or filtration, the use of new wood, depending on the vintage and the wine, people are in dialogue here, and the wines - the Traminer in the treasure trove of Swiss wine - speak exactly this language. Light, playful, so pure and so deep in her expression. Just how Chasselas develops into an agile, thoughtful personality here! That's great!

Tasting note
Orchard. Some are still blooming, purple flowers, others already deliciously ripe, the bright fruit, including pear, a wonderfully mild day, so calm, warm but not heated, even a whiff of honey. On the palate, again delightfully mild, almost viscous, ripe light fruit, honey, tending towards the evening, ethereal cooling freshness, slightly tart. Wonderfully smooth, rich and ripe!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Pinot Gris Beurot Sans Soufre Vully AOC passt bestens zu Sushi, Muscheln und Wolfsbarsch.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Fermentation with vine-grown yeasts, maceration for 1 day with stems, at 10% for a further 2 months without stems. Unsulphured, minimal filtration
