Pinot Noir L'Enfer du Plaisir Wallis AOC 2018 - Histoire d'Enfer

About the wine

The name says it all: Histoire d'Enfer (Hell's Story) creates hell of a lot of good wines. Need proof? In the recently published ranking of the “100 most beautiful wines in Switzerland” (Swiss Wine Newspaper), there are no less than 3 wines from Histoire d'Enfer — more than from any other winery, and all in the TOP 40! The initiator, co-founder and boss is Geneva doctor Patrick Regamey. It is just as much a natural phenomenon as his biodynamically produced wines... The doctor and autodidact cites rigorous triage of the grapes, all-grape pressing (including the stems) for the top wines and meticulous selection of the best barriques as the most important quality factors. He is even on the science council of barrique manufacturer Taransaud and, according to his own statements, has also carried out research into wood. He must also have a fine nose, as he is a member of the European Grand Jury tasting group. No, the extremely eloquent but likeable doctor is certainly not lacking in self-confidence, but the exceptional quality of his wines proves him right in every respect. We are thrilled!

Tasting note
Heaven OR hell? No longer up to date, would discrimination be excluded from one or the other - and then this Pinot wouldn't exist either! Buxom like an angel: the red fruit is just the scent of a feast: cherry in particular, downright voluptuous for a Pinot, the dirty thoughts about the meat: dark minerality, ash and the natural instinct: ethereal freshness, energy, so in harmony. And so on the palate too. You can let yourself fall into this red fruit: soft and juicy, and let yourself go naked and rough in it: slightly dry tannins, dark spiciness (including licorice), dashing freshness, and always that irresistible, sensual fruit. L'Enfer du Plaisir — there is no better name!
