About the wine

The Sonnenberg family has been using the 183-hectare Diemersfontein estate as a holiday and weekend country estate since the 1940s, and vines have also been growing in Diemersfontein since the early 1970s. But it wasn't until 2001 that the current owner David Sonnenberg set up a winery and began producing quality wines. With great success: The Diemersfontein wines were immediately recognized and praised internationally, and the first vintage won the Paul Sauer Trophy for the best wood-aged Pinotage at the South African Young Wine Show. Today, Diemersfontein wines are present all over the world and regularly receive high ratings at wine competitions and in trade magazines. The estate itself is also an inn for holiday travelers.
