Tasting note
Intense ruby with garnet red reflections. Complex, appealing bouquet. Scent of black fruit, plum chocolate, black chocolate and coffee. Perfectly balanced on the palate, with juicy structure and elegance. Ripe, black fruit and roasted aromas characterize the palate aromas. The aftertaste is long and lasting.
Culinary recommendation
Delicious with lamb loin, venison and beef fillet.
Vinification
Only the best Sangiovese grapes (locally known as Brunello) are used for the royal wine of Tuscany, Brunello. A selection of them for Riserva, but only in exceptionally good vintages. After harvesting, the grapes are gently crushed and mashed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After acid degradation, the young wine is aged for 30 months in large French wooden barrels (Allier, Chers and Tronçais) of 350 liters. This is followed by at least 12-18 more months of bottle storage.
