Ranci dolç 2017 - Mas Martinet

About the wine

The Mas Martinet winery is inextricably linked to the meteoric rise of the Priory. With great dedication and passion, José Luis Pérez reforested (certified) the old steep slopes according to ecological criteria and replaced chemistry with physics in the cellar. Sustainability, typicity and outstanding quality. Daughter Sara consistently continues along the chosen path and is now working out the independent character of the Priory even more clearly. The wines have an orchestral, rich and fresh elegance that was previously thought impossible in Priorat. World improver, world fame and world class!

Tasting note
Another dream, combining all contrasts, combining everything irreconcilable, darkness and light, melancholy and lightness, beguiling wealth, like an illusion incomprehensible. Sweet wealth, even bizarre, dried fruit, caramel, nuts, horn, bright freshness, even moist slate, like a warm summer rain, sparkles and a play of light in the dark, warm, moist, refreshingly cool breath. Wonderful on the palate, smooth and smooth, sweet, rich in aromas, dates, caramel, coffee, black tea, yet so light, salty, pointed, even the slight irritation, the bitter tone, everything so harmonious. A feast for the senses, an exhilarating dream
Vinification
Very selective reading. Drying the very ripe grapes on reed mats, fermenting the destemmed berries with the vineyard's own yeasts. Ageing in the Solera system, a pyramid of 100-year-old barrels. A portion of the bottom row is bottled, then filled with wine from the barrels above, with new wine at the very top. Further maturation partly in glass balloons. 1800 kg of grapes are converted into just 220 small bottles
