About the wine

Tasting note
The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe red and black berries with notes of creamy cassis, cedarwood and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine presents itself with incredible purity and focus. The taste is reminiscent of dark cherries, blackberries and ripe plums. Lush and full, with a pleasant hint of spiciness on the middle palate, which leads to fine, firm tannins on the finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes great with grilled rib eye steak with Bernaise sauce.
Vinification
The grapes came from the premium vineyards of Tokara on the mountain slopes of Simonsberg outside Stellenbosch. Only grapes from the best blocks were used, sorted by hand, crushed and gravity fed directly into stainless steel tanks. Cold maceration took place for 5 days and the mash was then spontaneously fermented in wood fermenters and stainless steel tanks with regular pump-overs and délestage. The malolactic fermentation took place in wooden barrels and the wine matured for a total of 22 months in 54% new French oak barrels.
