About the wine
Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this distinctive Merlot 2017 — Redmont Carnuntum Markowitsch. You can describe the landscape in Lower Austria with words such as hilly or mountainous. However, the Austrian winery Gerhard Markowitsch is trying to express the beauty of its home country with this red wine. We think he succeeded! The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or poultry.
Tasting note
In the bouquet, warm oak and a wonderful dark berry aroma consisting of cherries, blackberries and blueberries. Very elegant and densely woven on the palate, wonderful fruit sweetness, wonderfully polished tannins, opulent body, persistent with an enormous length.
Culinary recommendation
A fine accompaniment to game and dark meat dishes with stronger sauces or soft cheese.
Vinification
Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
