About the wine
Quinta das Marias is located in the heart of the Dão, the oldest DOC area in Portugal. The winery was founded in 1991 by Elisabeth and Peter Eckert. The two Swiss wine pioneers initially bought 4 hectares of land. Today, the charming Quinta covers 12 hectares in a prime location. The winery only grows autochthonous plants. Thanks to the excellent climatic conditions and the exceptional terroir, wines of first-class quality are produced. Within a very short period of time, the company developed into a flagship company from the Dão wine-growing region.

Tasting note
Crimson. Spicy aromas of juniper and wild berries. Very soft and pleasant body on the palate, full of fruit and firm tannins. Long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, game dishes, large roasts and lamb shanks. It can be a bit hearty.
