Tasting note
Deep dark ruby garnet, solid core, purple reflections, delicate brightening of the edges, delicately spiced black berry fruit, blackberry nuances, some licorice, a touch of precious wood. Powerful, fine nougat, ripe black berry fruit, firm, well-integrated tannins, sticks well, spicy style, development potential.
Culinary recommendation
Excellent with stews, entrecôtes and truffle dishes.
Vinification
Silvio Denz runs this winery with personal advice from Graf Compte de Neipperg and Michel Rolland. After harvesting and selection by hand, the grapes are vinified in Holzcuvier. The subsequent aging takes place over a period of 14 months, using half new and used French barriques.
