About the wine
The stately estate in Flemlingen was owned by the Counts of the Leyen until the 16th century. The Minges family has been managing the property for eight generations now and, according to their own statement, is associated with the fascination of winemaking. Their goal is to skillfully bottle the minerality of the diverse soils and the character of the grape varieties.
Robert Parker: 92/100
Tasting note
In the beginning, wonderful aromas of apricots, pineapples and other exotic fruits. On the palate, very clear ice wine style. In the mouth, seductive aromas of various kinds. Very nice lively acid play. Long lasting finish, wonderful ice wine!
Culinary recommendation
Used at a young age, such as Sauternes or large Tokayers, when matured, they go perfectly with fois gras and wild terrines.
Vinification
The white wines are fermented coolly and slowly after maceration and then remain on the fine yeast until bottling. Depending on the quality level, the reds are aged in large barrels or in barriques. Top plants remain in the wood for up to two years.
