About the wine
The Weingut Dr. Loosen has been family-owned for over 200 years. When Ernst Loosen took over the winery in 1988, he quickly realized that he had the opportunity to produce unique and large Rieslings with the winery's true roots, which are between 60 and 100 years old and are located in the most famous vineyards in the Moselle. Ernst Loosen is convinced that great wines are the result of great passion. We want to produce wines that are delicious, that are concentrated and complex and that reflect their origins in an unmistakable way.
Tasting note
A great Riesling cabinet with aromas of citrus, apple, Williams pear and wet stone. Semi-dry on the palate with juicy acidity that easily absorbs any residual sugar. Balanced, with great freshness and a pleasant, medium-long, mineral finish.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team is recommended with mushrooms, prawns and Asian food.
Vinification
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are gently pressed and then fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Fermentation is stopped by cooling so that the wine maintains a residual sugar content.
