About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the German Weingut Markus Molitor masters this white wine in the picturesque landscape of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Riesling can be served very well with shrimp or duck.
Now until 2050
Tasting note
Markus Molitor's Riesling trocken Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett is very fresh and spicy on the nose with fine slate aromas and aromas of peach, apricot and a little lime. On the palate, it is delicate, mineral and spicy with a long aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
The wine should be enjoyed during this period: Now until 2050. Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: It harmonizes perfectly with duck, mushrooms and Indian cuisine.
Vinification
The grapes for Markus Molitor's Riesling trocken Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett were gently ground and macerated on the berry skins for several hours. These Riesling grapes from the estate's own vineyard are very rich in aromas and minerals and come from light to medium-heavy, stony Devonian slate weathered soil with a considerable iron content. The must was spontaneously fermented slowly and cool so that the fruity aromas of the wine could fully develop. This was followed by gentle aging in large wooden barrels, so that a perfectly balanced and long-lasting wine could develop.
