About the wine
The Ripasso della Valpolicella with the name Marchesa Maria Bella comes from the Massimago winery. A big “Baby Amarone”: Great taste, organically produced and with a unique label — which, by the way, is designed by a different artist every year.
Tasting note
Ruby red with an intensely aromatic nose of fresh red cherries, wild strawberries, raspberry coulis and dried plums. It is accompanied by balsamic notes and fresh herbs such as mint and thyme. On the palate, the Ripasso is powerful yet very soft with velvety tannins and finely incorporated acidity. Full-bodied and opulent without being sumptuous, lingering in the aftertaste with lots of cherry fruit and subtle spicy notes.

Vinification
Selective hand-picking, followed by maceration. Fermentation and biological acid degradation take place in steel containers. After a few months, dried Amarone grapes are added. This causes a second fermentation, which increases the alcohol content and gives the wine additional extract. The wine then matures in French oak barrels for 12 months.
