Rkatsiteli is an autochthonous Georgian grape variety, and one of the oldest in the world. There is evidence that the grape was grown 5000 years ago. It is a white grape, but it is vinified like a red wine - i.e. it ferments in contact with the skin, which gives the wine its orange color and gives it a lot of structure. Very well balanced with fresh acidity and high intensity. Flavors of honey. Accessible but full of character. Only 2,700 bottles were produced.
