About the wine
The Barossa Valley north of the city of Adelaide is at the heart of Australian viticulture, the continent's most famous growing region. The roots — both historically and literally — go back to the middle of the 19th century. The winery also accentuates the romance of the good old days with antique tools, but the wines are full of contemporary taste in their characterful, unadulterated style. The glory of the valley is large shiraz stocks dating back to 1860 in bush form, with yields of just around 15 hl/ha. Rockford s Basket Press Shiraz comes from such old vines, it clearly embodies the traditional style of the region.
