Roero Arneis DOCG 2023 - Cantina Vietti

About the wine

Castiglione Falletto is a small village in the middle of the best wine-growing areas in the Langhe. The Vietti family winery is located right next to Castiglione Castle. Luca Currado and Mario Cordero have expanded their cellar and brought it up to date with the latest technology. Luca, the graduate oenologist, gained experience at well-known wineries such as Mouton-Rothschild and Opus One. In addition to the classic wines Barbaresco, Barbera d`Alba, Barbera d`Asti, Moscato d`Asti and Arneis, the Barolo vineyards Rocche, Brunate, Lazzarito and Villero are grown with great success.

Tasting note
In the bouquet, aromas of lime and ripe bananas beguile, the fresh palate starts with an elegant fruit sweetness, then becomes fuller in the middle and shows fine notes of gooseberries and pineapples, ending wonderfully dry.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal as an aperitif, goes well with a wide range of appetizers, raw fish, vitello tonnato, pasta dishes, fish and shellfish, chicken and other white meats, fresh cheeses.
Vinification
The grapes, picked by hand at the beginning of September, were destemmed, cold macerated overnight and then gently pressed. Fermentation at a low temperature (14 — 16°C) in stainless steel tanks, with the fermentation containers being hermetically sealed at the end of fermentation to preserve the natural carbonic acid gas. The wine is aged — on fine yeast — in stainless steel tanks until shortly before bottling at the end of January. Biological acid degradation was avoided in order to preserve the freshness of the wine.
