Tasting note
Deep ruby red with delicate purple reflections. The bouquet is intense, with aromas of blackberries, blueberries, sour cherries and balsamic notes. The palate is fresh, full-bodied and smooth. The silky Merlot tannins and the stronger tannins of Pignolo are harmoniously interwoven.
Culinary recommendation
Delicious with red meats, stews and game.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested late to increase color intensity and soften tannins, especially those of pignolo grapes. A careful selection by hand is carried out directly on the vine, followed by separate vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers. After blending, the wine is aged in French oak barriques for 24 months. Before it goes on sale, the wine ages in the bottle for 6 months.
