About the wine
The organically produced Rosso di Montalcino from Podere Brizio absolutely impressed us during the tasting. What is the difference to the expensive Brunello? Only the duration of barrel maturation. In terms of taste, this means fewer woody notes and fewer tannins, the wine is lighter and fruitier and cannot be stored as long as its famous big brother.
Tasting note
On the nose, this wine presents itself intensely with notes of ripe red fruits. The palate is optimally fresh with elegant notes of currants and forest fruits. The body is balanced and long-lasting.
Culinary recommendation
Delicious with hot starters, pates/terrines, pasta dishes, risotti and red meat.
Vinification
Traditional vinification with spontaneous fermentation of the existing yeast, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of 54 hl. Aged in bottle for at least 3 months.
