About the wine

At the beginning of 2000, Roman Niewodniczanski acquired the estate, restored it and expanded it to include prime locations on the Saar. Today, it covers around 75 hectares, mainly located on the best steep slopes with some 30-year-old vines. The aim is to produce harmonious, digestible wines with pure drinking pleasure. The results are mainly dry-aged wines of mineral finesse with ripe fruit and low alcohol content.

Tasting note
Fortepiano - dogs that bark don't bite, first loudly, lively, a playful intro full of intensity and fruit, passion fruit, juicy necatrines and apricots, also citrusy with bergamot and thick-skinned, slightly tart cedri lemon, only then, concealed, with a touch of herbs, lemon thyme, and warm minerality of finely worn down Slate dust and warm soil, like walking through the vineyard in summer, becoming quieter and quieter. On the palate, the restraint again, a light, bright fruit, becoming ever more present with spicy citrus aromas and a stony saltiness, prominent yet tame, flattering, beguiling, begging for love and attention. Heartfelt wine!
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: It goes well with duck, Indian cuisine and mushrooms. Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the white wine is slightly chilled 7°-9°C, and the wine should be enjoyed during this period: 2016 - 2022.
Vinification
Very selective harvesting of fully ripe grapes by hand and further selection at the table in the cellar. Fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts in oak barrels and temperature-controlled steel tanks, aging for 7 months in steel tanks. No additives or wine treatment agents.
