About the wine
You can describe the landscape of the Bündner Herrschaft with such words as mountainous or hilly. However, the Swiss winery Georg Schlegel is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded successfully! If we can offer something special for Easter 2022, it's this strong Pinot Noir 2018 — Saliser Grande Selection AOC. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Pinot Noir with duck or salmon.
Tasting note
The cherry-red Pinot Noir Saliser Grande Selection has a variety of aromas and yet has a fine Burgundian effect. It impresses with its complexity and refinement without end — an adventurous drinking experience. With a touch of chocolate and fine berries, the elegant Pinot Noir shows its character.
Culinary recommendation
Pinot is not only a wine for safe combinations with forest aromas, dishes with blueberries, juniper, mushrooms, Jerusalem artichoke, porcini mushrooms and truffles; this wine can also be served as a contrast to very spicy dishes (such as Indian cuisine). Ideal with fried meat dishes. Perfect for all seasons
Vinification
The Pinot Noir Saliser Grande Selection shows a gentle compote sweetness combined with a fruity bouquet. On the palate, this produces great fruit aromas and lots of meat and fat. In the finale, the characterful red wine tastes chocolaty, spicy and pleasing.
